CERAMIC WORKSHOPS @ Viola Clay Studio


Viola Clay Studio is my personal ceramics studio in Camberwell, London, where I offer wheel throwing and hand-building lessons. I have taught ceramics at various studios in Bristol and London for 3 years alongside my own practice of making. Below is some general info and the different workshops I offer :)

General Info:
  • My workshops are designed for beginners but all levels welcome!
  • I take a calm, encouraging approach to teaching ceramics and am open to any idea or projects you’d like to achieve in the lesson.
  • Workshops are held in my personal studio that I share with another artist.
  • I can accommodate max 4 people at a time.
  • After a workshop, your piece will be fired and glazed for you and are collected or shipped at a later date.

Handbuilding Workshops 

This workshop can explore different hand-building techniques such as slab-building, coiling or pinching. The lesson can be guided by any ideas you may have in mind.

  • 2 Hrs
  • Includes the firing of one piece (extra pieces are £5 each to fire)

1:1 Wheel Throwing Workshop


This workshop will focus on creating a cup, bowl or pot shape. Follow up lessons on the wheel can go into trimming (carving) and creating various other forms.

Handbuilding + Wheelthrowing workshop


This workshop will give each participant a handbuilding lesson and time on the pottery wheel.
  • £65 pp (max 3 ppl)
  • 2hrs 30 mins
  • Includes the firing of two pieces (extra pieces are £5 extra to fire)

I offer a sliding scale for my workshops to help make ceramics more accessible while keeping my practice sustainable.

You choose the rate that feels right for you:

Lower rate (75% of base price) – for those with limited disposable income

Standard rate (100% of base price) – the true cost of the workshop

Supporter rate (125% of base price) – helps support my studio and makes lower-cost prices possible
